When our young son-in-law died, our daughter was a very young widow with two little daughters. During our grieving, a friend and colleague gave me the "remi-nders" book. It struck the right notes for me--short, succinct, not preachy. My heart was so broken I could only think one thought at a time, "remi-nders" was about all I could process. It brought relief. Very little else did. In my nursing career, I carried a "remi-nder" in my nursing bag to hand to those suffering a loss. I like to include one with expressions of sympathy.
